24th May 2009 Windsurfing: Lepe Wind Direction: ne Wind Stength: 10 to 0 Surf / Sea State: river chop then flat Air Temperature: 20 Sea Temperature: 12 Weather: cloudy then sunny Max Speed: 8.50 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 4.60 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) One star windsurf but five star long bank holiday weekend !!! Arrived at Lepe at ! o clock,measured 11 kts on the meter rigged 9.4 and went out on the raceboard.I was going to sail over to the Isle of Wight and buy a newspaper !!! Trouble was as soon as I got on the water the wind was dropping all the time and with the tide going out I was heading towards the Needles !!! I tried lots of small tacks close to the beach and got approx half way to Calshot before the wind died completely and I ran back to the van and gave up !!! but the rest of the weekend was mega,stayed in the van for the first time,had the roof up,loads of walks in the New Forest,saw deer,foal,squirrels,lizards !!! met up with Rob ate too much great,great time !!! |
